Dolores Huerta & Teatro LHDC @ the 2009 Latino Youth Conference

Teatro LHDC was invited to perform in this years Latino Youth Conference at North Elementary School in Tracy this past Saturday, February 7, 2009. A little over 400 students and individuals from all over the Central Valley gathered to participate in workshops presented by community leaders.

The large crowd also enjoyed entertainment by Teatro LHDC, who had the honor of sharing the stage with the legendary Chicana labor leader, the events keynote speaker, Dolores Huerta. For more than forty years she has dedicated her life to the struggle for justice, dignity, and a decent standard of living for farm workers.



Dolores Huerta served as the keynote speaker for the Latino Youth Conference in Tracy.

  • Has been arrested 22 times for participating in non-violent civil disobedience activities & strikes.

Ms. Huerta is the founder and president of The Dolores Huerta Foundation. The organization is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build active communities working for fair and equal access to health care, housing, education, jobs, civic participation and economic resources for disadvantaged communities with an emphasis on women and youth.
