Gracias to those who came out to Teatro LHDC's information night earlier this week. It was a success!
The New Member Orientation has changed. It will take place Wednesday, 23/February/2011 at 06:00PM in MSR 130 (CSU Stan). This is one week later than originally planned.
The orientation will review Teatro's Constitution, rules/expectations, attendance, upcoming events, joining committees and more.
So, if you're interested in joining us, please come to this event!
Speaking of upcoming events, Teatro LHDC will be performing at the La Lucha Sigue! Farmworker
More about this event:
Speaker Al Rojas was a founding member of the United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez. He will speak on the experience of organizing farm workers and will also detail the current issues surrounding the UFW and how the farm worker community is once again under attack by a new "Bracero Program" in the AgJOBS legislation.
His presentation will be preceded by a special showing of the documentary "Harvest of Loneliness", created by UC, Irvine professors Gilbert Gonzalez and Vivian Price. The documentary exposes the realities behind the failed Bracero guest worker program of the 1950's & '60's.
